When the fairy tale goes wrong
The millers daughter was a very beautiful girl, her long hair flowed down to her hips, and her eyes shown like the bright blue sky above. She loved to read and write, and loved to talk and make friends with others. She always had what she wanted until the day the prince returned from a long journey around the world.
He came back wanting a wife. The king of course rubbed the back of his neck, thinking and thinking of what wife would be best for his only son. He then thought about the millers daughter, beautiful, naive, kind, and old enough to marry. Then of course he knew that the millers daughter was very poor and would bring less pride into the royal traditions that the kingdom had. The king then knew what to do, and this would be a very difficult task, though a necessary one… for the millers daughter was going to make straw into gold.
So the king, being very greedy, snatched the millers daughter and brought her to the kingdom. He shoved her in a closet deep down in the basement, near the dungeons and ordered her to make straw. He didn't tell her that she was going to get married if she does make the straw into pure gold, so she was hesitating on it.
As she was shoved into the closet, she sobbed by the spindle, wondering what to do. Then suddenly, she felt a small hand tap her on the shoulder. She turned around, noticing a small, yellow creature, with a paintbrush shaped tail and a zigzagged black line going down it's back.
"Me want to help." The creature said in a high squeaky voice.
"No, no, no I'm okay."
"Picachu want to help spin straw into gold."
"Really I'm fine." The millers daughter said.
Suddenly, the creatures eyes grew really big and black, vibrating like it was begging. The millers daughter than sighed and muttered.
"Fine, be my guest."
Suddenly, the creature jumped up in the air, the background around him now looking like swirls of purple and red, and it made a kicking motion towards the spinning wheel.
"PICACHUUUUUUUU!!!!!"
Then, in a blur of yellow and hints of black, the creature went to work on turning it into gold. Then, just minutes later it stopped and there was a large mass of golden colored straw. The millers daughter stood all amazed and turned to the small yellow creature.
"Oh thank you, thank you so much."
The king than entered and noticed the straw. The little creature had vanished, and so the king began to think it was the millers daughter that did all this.
"Amazing, I didn't think you could do it. Why don't you make me some more gold and I will see how well you do tomorrow morning then."
The king then left and the millers daughter was left with twice as much straw to spin into gold.
"What am I going to do?" She whined, sobbing once again by the spindle.
She was expecting the little yellow creature to return, but instead the door slammed open and a tall blonde in a hot pink dress entered. Trailing behind the blonde was a woman in purple and not looking very nice.
"So I'm supposed to prick myself on the spindle and all my dreams will come true?" The girl asked the purple lady.
"Yes... all your dreams will come true."
"Cool!" The girl than rushed over to the spinning wheel and pricked her finger against the spindle.
Suddenly, the girl collapsed on the ground and the purple lady began cackling and screaming. Then, the purple lady, with the snap of her finger, vanished in a puff of purple smoke, leaving the unconscious girl on the ground by her feet. The millers daughter scooted away, wondering what exactly happened just there.
As she looked at the girl on the floor, she felt that small hand tap her shoulder and she turned around to see the little yellow creature.
"You called?"
"I did, ummmm.... can you spin more for me?" She wondered
"That's my job isn't it?" He asked, his voice still high and squeaky, almost like he was talking to a child on a TV show.
Then before the millers daughter could say anything else, the creature hopped up in the air, and made the straw into gold.
The next day the king returned astonished, and shocked. For their was an unconscious girl on the ground, and there was a mass of gold straw beside the millers daughter.
"You amaze me millers daughter. Now make me three times as much by tonight and you shall marry the prince."
"Really?!" The millers daughter asked, standing up in excitement.
"Yep, NOW GET TO IT!!!!!"
The door then slammed and she was left alone, or mostly anyway. She waited patiently until that tiny hand tapped her on the shoulder. She turned around expecting to see the little yellow creature, but instead it appeared to be a little man. The little man had pointy green shoes and a fancy, old fashioned suit.
"Hello malady, did I just hear you need some help?"
"Yes, the king asked me to turn this straw into gold and I don't know how to." She explained.
The little man glanced over at the spinning wheel and the heap of straw.
"Oh I see, you need some help on that. Well, if you give me your first born child I will do this for you."
"Okay." She agreed quickly
"Now why don't you rest a while, you look very tired."
The millers daughter than lied down and fell asleep. Then, when she woke up, the little man was gone and their was a pile of golden straw beside her. The king than entered and noticed it, and with a smile, he asked her to be his sons wife. So the millers daughter married the prince the next day and they were as happy as could ever be. Then, two years later she had her first born son, and she loved him oh so dearly.
Though she couldn't keep him, for this baby was to be the little man's. She sat on her bed, waiting patiently, and then out comes the little yellow creature.
"Picachu here, Picachu want first born."
"No, this is for another person."
"Than you shall guess my name then." It said.
"It's kind of obvious, your Picachu, you sort of tend to say your name a lot."
"Well than, Picachu is bummed out. Picachu is now leaving, good bye." And Picachu vanished, the little man appearing seconds later.
"Give me him, we made a deal." The little man said.
"How about not, can we change the deal? Like I try to guess your name?" She wondered.
The little man sat down on the hope chest near the window of her bedroom.
"If you want your first born so badly, yes. But if you can't guess, I get him no matter what the consequences."
"Deal!"
The little man smiled sheepishly and doddled off towards the window.
"Guess it by tonight or I get him....GOODBYE!!!!" And the little man jumped out the window.
The queen sighed and ordered over her hands maiden. She entered quickly, bowing and curtsying.
"Go spy on that little man and return back to me with his name." The queen ordered.
The hands maiden curtsied and walked off, following the little man. Hours later and she returned saying his name was Rumpelstiltskin. So that night, she pretended not knowing his name and said:
"Okay.... is it.... Ronald Mcdonald?"
"Nope." He responded, putting his hands behind his back and taking a seat.
"Um.... James Bond?"
"Nope, two more guess's." He warned, holding up two crooked fingers.
"How about... is it... Abraham Lincoln?"
"Oh come on, of course not!"
"Right.... okay... is it.... one more guess.... is it... Rumpelstiltskin?"
Rumplestilskin than began to throw a fit. He tossed his shoes on the ground, he screamed and yelled, and he began pounding his fists on the ground.
"How did you know, HOW DID YOU KNOW?"
"I read it in a book, it wasn't that hard." The queen said, folding her arms.
Rumpelstiltskin than grumbled and growled, and stormed off the window, never seen again in the kingdom. The queen, the king, and the little baby boy than lived happily ever after (Until 100 years later when the unconscious blonde wakes up by the kiss of the queen's great-great-great grandson and everything goes insane by then).
He came back wanting a wife. The king of course rubbed the back of his neck, thinking and thinking of what wife would be best for his only son.
