Phew! Don't even get me started on the marriage. Last week, my brother got married to Lauren Burraston on July 3rd and, oh boy, that was INSANE!
It all started *Rewinding* when Garrett proposed. A month after he returned from his mission, his came to Tennessee where Lauren was coming home from her mission. He surprised her the next day, proposed the next and everything went cabloomie for me! It was great, I was getting a new sister in law and I got to be in an exciting wedding. But since Laurens family lived in Tennessee they lived and did everything at my house.
That was a mess
Every single decoration had to be hand crafted and it exploded my house. Tons of family stayed over, meaning little ones. It did not help the explosion. Crafts, family, invitations, stress, you'd think I would be a bit overwhelmed.
So here is the thing, preparation for the wedding was not fun for me. The day of the wedding was. Isn't that how it's always anyway isn't it? I couldn't escape because I couldn't drive and everybody was too stressed to take me anywhere. I was stranded, shoved around the house with stress lingering.
Those who have experienced weddings probably know of this feeling.
Let me add to my overwhelming anxiety I had gone through with this wedding.
About two months before wedding, black mold grew in my bedroom. I had to move downstairs to the basement. Well... the basement flooded. That was because the guy repairing my bedroom left the hose on overnight. So I moved up to my sisters room. Then visitors came. By then, my room was repaired. So me and my sister took my bed. Then my brother thought to take my bed. Why? Because he needed to use the bed for his apartment when he gets married.
So I was left on the floor.
I was left on the floor for more than three weeks, I didn't have an official bed until Garrett moved out with his new wife and I took his bed.
Phew! That was a mess. My life was a mess for a whole three months!!! Now it's over... I think.
Well... no, it's not over. My other brother, Bryant, is going on his mission. Then we are moving the next week. That doesn't seem as bad just because I've already had a brother go on a mission before and I have moved half a dozen times. So I guess it's sort of over.
I got to make up my mind.
Anyway. Quick update on others things I have done. Girlscamp was fun, it was my escape before wedding for a week. Woohoo! We went to Manti. Then Youth Conference last week, just barely after the wedding. Another great escape. I went to Camp Williams. Maybe another post I'll talk more deeply about girls camp and Youth Conference, but this post is more focused on the wedding. So that's all I'm going to say for this one.
